TOUCH-UP AND REFUND POLICY

Realistic Expectations & Touch-Up Policy

We want you to have realistic expectations for your new art. Every skin type reacts differently to ink, and the healing process is a unique journey for every individual.

Important Notice for Travelers: Plan for the Future

Because our studio is located in Bali, the vast majority of our clients are international visitors. While we love being a part of your journey, tattoos are a healing art that requires time to settle.

Before confirming your booking, please keep the following realities in mind to avoid any future frustration:

  • The Reality of Healing: A tattoo can take several weeks to fully heal and show if it needs a minor adjustment.

  • The Distance Factor: If you do not plan on returning to Bali in the foreseeable future, please remember that we cannot physically adjust your tattoo.

  • Our Travel Guarantee: Because we cannot manage the standard or pricing of overseas studios, our international touch-up policy is strictly limited to our standard local studio compensation (detailed below).

If a partial refund toward a local touch-up does not align with your expectations as a traveler, we completely understand, but we ask that you consider this risk before finalizing your appointment.

The "Healed Look"

Fine-line and minimalistic tattoos have a specific look once healed. They often do not look like solid, “stamped” outlines—this is completely normal for tattoos in general and simply more noticeable on delicate work. Our goal is a piece that looks integrated and natural on your skin.

Color Ink, Minimalist Trends & The Sun Risk

Color outlines (especially red and brown ink) are incredibly popular right now, but they require a specific understanding:

  • The Aesthetic: Color pigments naturally have a softer, less “solid” or “stamped” look than black ink. Please prepare for this delicate, organic aesthetic.

  • The Sun Risk (The Bali Factor): The absolute biggest threat to these delicate color tattoos is sun exposure. Most travelers book their sessions for the very last days of their trip after spending weeks in the Bali sun.

  • Traumatized Skin: Even if your skin isn’t visibly red or peeling, constant sun exposure leaves the skin traumatized, dehydrated, and in a “defensive state.”

Why this matters to you: Traumatized skin loses its natural healing features. When fine lines or color pigments are placed into sun-stressed skin, it significantly rejects the ink, leading to patchy healing and severe fading. It is often impossible for the artist to see this hidden damage until the tattoo starts healing poorly weeks later.

Our Rule: We strongly advise keeping your tattoo area completely out of the sun for 1–3 weeks before your session. If you cannot commit to protecting your skin pre-tour, please reconsider choosing fine-line color or minimalist work.

OUR TERMS

1. Complimentary Touch-Up

We offer one free touch-up for up to 2 years after your tattoo was completed. This includes a fix of specific faded elements rather than a full refreshing of the entire tattoo.

Exclusions:

  • High-Wear Placements: Tattoos on the lower wrist (closest to the hand), hands, fingers, palms, ears, face, feet, and lower ankles are prone to fading. We cannot offer free touch-ups for these specific areas due to the nature of the skin there.
  • Skin Condition & Sun Exposure: Free touch-ups do not apply to tattoos done on aged skin, sunburned skin, relatively fresh scars, or skin affected by psoriasis.
  • Significant Weight Fluctuations: Free touch-ups do not apply to tattoos on skin affected by severe overweight or rapid, significant weight loss. These changes cause the skin to lose its natural elasticity and structure, which can negatively impact the healing process and ink retention compared to stable skin.

The “Bali Factor”: We strongly advise against sun exposure for 1–3 weeks before your session. Even if there is no redness, tanned skin is tougher and has a “defense structure” that significantly affects the healing process of fine-line work.

2. International "Traveler’s Insurance"

As almost all our customers are tourists and may not be able to return to Bali for a touch-up, we offer a money-back option so you can have it fixed where you are currently located.

  • The Refund: This is limited to 300k IDR total.

  • Payment Method: All international refunds are processed via PayPal.
  • Transfer Fees: Please note that this 300k IDR includes any international bank or transfer fees. Depending on your bank or payment method, the final amount you receive in your local currency may be slightly less after these fees are deducted.
  • Why this amount? This covers our basic material and medical-grade setup expenses for a single session.

  • Note: We do not take responsibility for the specific pricing or hourly rates charged by other tattoo studios in other countries.
