WHERE TO GET A TATTOO IN BALI?

Good question! We would like to answer it in a different way. Who should I get my tattoo from in Bali? We think it’s important to start with choosing an artist. Here are some tips on how to find a good artist and get a great result if you’re a beginner and your tattoo is not spontaneous.

Many people start by asking about the price, and that’s understandable. But tattooing is a specialized field, and there aren’t many great artists out there. A tattoo lasts a lifetime, so we don’t recommend starting with a price-based search. For professionals, the price can’t be too low, because it depends on how much work is involved and can range anywhere from $50 to $1000. If you go for the cheapest option, you might end up with a poor result. Tattoo removal is an expensive and painful process that may not restore your skin to its original condition. On the other hand, higher prices don’t always guarantee better quality.

The more complex and large-scale your idea is, the more research work you will need to do. It’s important to view a lot of Instagram and other artists’ resources, comparing them critically. Generally, it’s helpful to conduct a screen to find the best fit for your project. At some point, you may notice a difference in the quality of works, sketches, submissions, and texts.

When you’ve chosen one or more tattoo artists based on limited information from photos on the internet, there are a few steps you can take. Firstly, the photos should be well-taken and without obvious corrections. Secondly, communication is key. In conversations, whether on the phone or in person, focus on your cultural and professional needs, avoiding pathos and self-promotion. This approach should also apply to your own communication with the artist.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions about future tattoos and the entire process. The job of the tattoo artist, among other things, is to provide competent advice, laying everything out on the table without nerves.

Thirdly, when you come to a session or consultation, the studio should be clean and tidy and the equipment in good condition. The artist should give the impression of a professional who is interested in the best outcome for your meeting. From “Hello” to “Goodbye”, kindness, culture, and respect should all be present.

If you don’t find a suitable tattooist in your city, don’t go to an existing one hoping for a miracle.
