YOUR BALI PRE-SESSION & AFTERCARE CHECKLIST

Freash Vs Healed Tattoo

Getting inked in paradise is a highlight of many Bali trips. To ensure your skin is ready and your art heals perfectly, we’ve put together this essential Bali tattoo checklist. Whether you're visiting our studio for a fine-line piece or a large custom design, follow these steps for the best experience.

1. BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

The Prep

Preparation is the secret to a high-quality tattoo. Proper hydration and skin health make the artist's job easier and your session more comfortable.
  • Cleanliness & Respect: Please arrive at your session fresh. Do not come straight from the beach. Being clean is a sign of respect for our artists, our sterile environment, and our other customers. Please ensure you are showered and "smell okay" before we begin our close-contact work.
  • Hydrate & Fuel Up: Drink plenty of water in the 48 hours leading up to your session. Eat a balanced meal 1–2 hours before you arrive to keep your blood sugar stable and prevent lightheadedness.
  • Rest Well: A good night’s sleep is your best defense against pain. Being well-rested significantly increases your endurance.
  • No Alcohol or Blood Thinners: Avoid alcohol for at least 24–48 hours before your session. Alcohol thins the blood, causing excessive bleeding that can push ink out and ruin the clarity of your tattoo.
  • Dress for the Occasion: Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Note: Tattoo ink can splash! Don't wear your favorite designer labels; choose clothes you don't mind getting a little messy.

  • Sun Safety: This is vital in Bali! We cannot tattoo sunburnt skin. Keep your placement area out of the harsh Bali sun until your appointment.

2. DURING YOUR SESSION

Finding The Perfect Fit

  • The Stencil Phase: We will print and apply a stencil so you can see the design on your body. This is the time to be picky! We can adjust the size, placement, and fine details until it’s perfect.
  • Speak Up: If you feel anxious or have a question about the placement, tell us. We are here to ensure you are 100% satisfied before the needle touches skin.

3. AFTERCARE

Protecting Your Investment

Bali’s tropical climate and busy roads require extra care during the healing process.
  • Immediate Care: We will apply a protective "Second Skin" healing film and provide instructions.
  • The Journey Home: After a session, your body has been under stress. We strongly advise taking a taxi (Grab/Gojek) rather than a scooter. Riding a bike can strain the skin and expose the fresh wound to dust. More importantly, it is unsafe to ride a bike immediately after a stressful session; you could feel faint or pass out during the ride.

4. UNDERSTANDING TOUCH-UPS & FINE-LINE HEALING

We want you to have realistic expectations for your new art. Every skin type reacts differently to ink.

  • Why we split our costs: To stay competitive in the Bali tattoo market, we do not include touch-ups in the initial price. Since 99% of our customers are fully satisfied and never require one, we prefer to keep our session prices lower rather than charging everyone for a service most don't need.
  • The "Healed Look": Fine-line and minimalistic tattoos have a specific look once healed. They often do not look like solid, "stamped" outlines—this is completely normal for tattoos in general and simply more noticeable on delicate work.
  • Red Ink & Minimalist Trends: This is especially relevant for red ink tattoos, which are very popular right now. Red outlines naturally have a less "solid" look than black ones. Please prepare for this aesthetic.

Touch-Up Policy

If you decide you want to reinforce your lines after healing, we offer touch-up sessions for 500k – 1 million IDR (depending on size) to cover our professional consumables and setup.
